About me
Hi everyone, Glen here. I really feel privileged and excited about having the opportunity to embark on the STEER NORTH journey. It should be fantastic to share this adventure with such a great group of people who are giving up so much of their time to make this trip possible.
I am passionate about the outdoors, both in my own personal activities (bushwalking, rogaining, bike riding, kayaking, rowing and rock climbing) and professionally, having been an Outward Bound instructor, a group leader for ANZES, and whitewater rafting guide throughout my career in education.
I have always had a strong sense of community involvement, having been involved in running camps for Legacy children, and also as a volunteer counsellor at Lifeline over many years.
I lost both of my parents to cancer, dad when I was eight, and mom in my twenties. I bring enormous enthusiasm and energy to everything I do and hope to inspire a similar attitude in others. I encourage you to donate to Steer North and support me in my latest project, which is to cycle from Melbourne to Cairns in order to raise money for Cancer Research and patient care.
